Below is a random selection of my Artistic Impression images. I feel the animals and landscapes of East Africa work very well with this type of editing.
Some elephant love for Monochrome Monday this week. I’ve scheduled these posts in advance as I am currently away, and with any luck, spending lots of time with these magnificent creatures.
An elephant with uniquely crossed tusks naps away the afternoon.A small herd of elephants nap in the early afternoon on the Amboseli plains.Mama and baby heading towards the rest of the herd.
There is just something about the Amboseli landscape that really appeals to me for monochrome images. The starkness of many of the areas, the elephants towering over the flat, seemingly endless plains.
Here is a selection of images from this beautiful place.
I hope you enjoy, and have a lovely day.
As dusk approached, this lioness rounded up her cubs and was on the move.Tender greetings.Egrets alongside an elephant, waiting for any insects the elephant stirs up.Elephants crossing the marsh, with the hills in the background.A zebra in the marsh along with herons, egrets and ibis.Wildebeest marching onwards.A lone wildebeest rests on the Amboseli plains.
I’ve gotten these posts done ahead of time, as today I am heading back to Africa for another amazing adventure. I am so looking forward to being out in nature, being close to elephants, and frankly, being warm (the winter has dragged on and spring has been slow to start).
I thought I would share a few of my artistic impression images, the ones that I edit to look like paintings or that end up a bit over the top.
I was so fortunate to spend time with large herds of elephants both in Amboseli, and in the Masai Mara. This photo is from the Mara, where a large herd was passing through the conservancy. We spent about an hour surrounded by elephants as they went about their day.
A 7 shot stitched panorama of just a small portion of the elephant herd passing through Ol Kinyei Conservancy in Kenya.
Heads up, soon I’ll be off travelling, and while I will do my best to get my regular posts scheduled in advance, I might not be so speedy with replying to comments. As always, if you are on either Instagram or Facebook, you can catch me over there as well. I do try to make sure the photos I post to Instagram are different from what I share on the blog, and that is where I will posting some shots from the road. Links are always in the About Me section, but for convenience: @jensawicky and @jennifersawickyphotography.
The WordPress prompt for this week is Dense. Rather than post a selfie (ha ha ha), here are some photos from East Africa that fit in with the theme.
