Being on safari in the dark is quite a magical experience. Some people find it scary, I am sure, as predators are more active after dark, but I find the experience exhilarating, even if the photo opportunities are more limited.
We came across this particular pride of lions on the way to a bush supper, and our spotlight was busted. Another vehicle came along and we had their spotlight for a minute to get a look at the cats, and then we were both off. This was the lead lioness, and the rest of her pride was a few paces behind her on the road and in the bushes. I’m sure my supper was far more easy to come by that evening than the lion’s was!
I’ve shared other lion at night images, if you missed them the first time around check here.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

I’ve kept on with the lion theme started yesterday, though with one a bit more active. She was taking a rather leisurely stroll down the road; she definitely had a destination in mind, but was in no hurry to get there.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
2020-05-31: Lions at rest
Sunday as a day of rest seems a distant memory right now; and while I wish I could be chilling out like these lions, I have coursework to do instead.
Spending a little time on my photography gives me the opportunity to flex my creative muscles and gets me energized again to get back to work. I think though that once finals are done in August, I’ll be looking quite like these lions on the weekends until classes go back again in September.
Wishing you all the best for a positive week ahead.

My favourite animal to spend time with in the bush. I never get tired of being around elephants 🙂
2020-05-24: Artistic Impressions
I’ve had some fun over the last few weeks playing around with some images in Topaz Studio and creating a bit of photo art. I had been hoping to get out with my camera and capture some of the new birds I have been seeing around, but the weather has definitely not been conducive to that this week. It seems to be a theme lately that I want to do more with my photography than time allows, but these sort of cycles ebb and flow, and there is no sense in getting all worked up about it. I’m just happy that I have something to share this week.
Wishing everyone a positive week ahead!

I had grand plans for photography and posts this past week, but my schoolwork got me bogged down, so much so that I even missed my usual Sunday post. Now it’s nearing the end of the long weekend and the weather has cooperated to get out for a round of golf, so a quick image and then I am off. After a long winter and lots of time during the week spent at the computer, I have to have my priorities! Have a great week everyone!
