2017-10-29: WPC Rounded

The photo challenge topic of the week is rounded.  And while I contemplated creating a post highlighting all the lovely rounded lines on elephants, I decided instead to offer up a bit more variety.

I hope you enjoy my selection of images.

Trying to capture the sunset from a moving vehicle is not the easiest task, but I loved the way the light was hitting the curves in the road, so I gave it my best shot.  South Africa, May 2017.

2017-10-23: Monochrome Monday

My Monochrome Monday choice for this week is from a wonderful lion sighting during my time spent in Etosha National Park in Namibia.  You really can’t ask for better than this!

2017-10-22: WPC Glow

The prompt for the photo challenge this week is glow; the perfect opportunity to share some photos with some beautiful light.

I hope you enjoy my selections!

2017-10-16: Monochrome Monday

While we were driving from camp to the river crossing location, we came across an area where wildebeest were moving in a column, for as far and the eye could see in either direction.  I tried creating a stitched panorama, but even that only provides a hint of the overwhelming number of animals on the plains.

2017-09-26: WPC Layers

The WordPress photo challenge prompt for the week is layers.  I shot this image while on a bird watching boat trip along the Kazinga Channel in Uganda.  There were several fishing villages along our route, and most of the boats were already in for the day by the time we set out.  The person taking the climb back to the village from the shore caught my eye from the boat.

I feel this image is a great example of showing off many layers; not only do we have the water, the land and the sky, but several layers of nature interspersed with man made objects.

I hope you enjoy my take on this topic.

2017-09-25: Monochrome Monday

We were lucky enough to spend about an hour with this breeding herd in the Namibian Desert.  They spent time grazing on devil’s thorn and then went down into the riverbed for a drink and a mud bath.  After that, they were off, and we headed back to camp for breakfast.

2017-09-21: Vida Collection on HSN

Several months ago, one of the designs I created for my Vida site was selected to be made into a custom item to be featured on HSN! The item is now available and will be featured on the Vida design show tomorrow on HSN in the US.

When I signed on for the feature, I only knew that the product would be a sleeveless vest, but not how it would look.  These are my first views of it, and I think it’s turned out wonderfully.

My item is called Amboseli Sunset, and was created from an image I took while on a game drive in Kenya last September.
